How much does a Bachelor's degree cost and how can it be financed?

13 mars 2025
"In the jungle of grants, some schemes sometimes fly under the radar. Take Floryan, for example, who applied to the Institut de l'Engagement, an association that helps young people aged 18 to 25. "You have to be committed somewhere to benefit from it. For me, it was at the end of my civic service", explains the 1st year student at the Ecole Supérieure du Tourisme in Troyes (Aube). At the Institut de l'Engagement, he found support in all areas, "to help me define my career plan, then write my covering letters, CVs and applications... I was given full support", he says. The Institute is a partner of many schools and universities, including his own. "As a result, I don't even have to pay half the tuition fees for my bachelor's degree, and I've even been able to get a grant at the same time," adds the new student from Troy.

12 March 2025

It gave him a foot in the door and helped him prepare for the competitive entrance exams to the grandes écoles".

"Our raison d'être is to enable young people who have made a commitment to serving the general interest to be able to use that commitment in their studies, in the world of work or to create a project. We recruit either young people who have done their civic service - which represents more than 100,000 young people every year - or who have been volunteers. We recruit 700 each year. We have a partnership with 180 higher education establishments that recognise our admission procedure as the equivalent of their own. Two-thirds of the young people go on to these schools, the other third go on to the job market or set up their own business or association, and we support them in this. In the 11 years since we were founded, we have supported around 6,000 successful applicants.
