Campus de l'Engagement dedicated to working-class neighbourhoods and youth involvement

The Institut de l'Engagement and the towns of Gennevilliers and Colombes brought together Institut de l'Engagement winners and young people for a half-day event at the Théâtre de Gennevilliers.

Martin Hirsch, President of the Institut de l'Engagement, Patrice Leclerc, Mayor of Gennevilliers, Valentin Narbonnais, Deputy Mayor of Colombes in charge of Youth, Urban Culture and Secondary Education opened the event.

The award winners were able to attend a panel discussion hosted by Quentin Jagorel on the theme of « Culture as a driver of engagement in disadvantaged neighbourhoods«, followed by a question and answer session.

With Lord EsperanzaUrban pop rapper and singer, Solenne du Haÿs Mascréco-founder and managing director of Paris Dance Project, Lucile DeschampsGeneral Delegate of the Culture and Diversity Foundation, Philippe MillerDirector of the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers.

To round off the day, workshops were organised to explore these issues even further:

  • Neighbourhoods and commitment to ecology
  • Attractiveness of public service employment in deprived neighbourhoods
  • Raising awareness of social entrepreneurship for young people in disadvantaged urban areas
